Description: I graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology and Physical
Geography from Liverpool University in 1996, before working as a research
assistant for the Fault Analysis Group within the same department. In 2001 I
completed my Ph.D. supervised by Kevin Pickering and John Platt at University
College London. His thesis, entitled Tectono-stratigraphic evolution of a
Neogene late-orogenic oblique-extensional basin: an example from SE Spain'
focussed on the tectonic deformation of the Tabernas-Sorbas Basin through the
Tortonian and Messinian.I am currently working on the NOMAD (NOvel Modelled
Analogue Data for more efficient exploitation of deepwater hydrocarbon
reservoirs) project in the Tanqua-Karoo, South Africa as the deep-water clastic
stratigrapher. Research interests include the use of turbidite bed thickness
statistics in the identifcation of submarine environments and basin settings,
and the architecture of basin-floor and submarine slope systems in complex and
contained settings. |
