Description: My speciality is currently non-oxidative palynofacies processing, using
HF and HCl acids, and transmitted- and blue-light microscopy, spore
colour index and vitrinite reflectance analysis. I also work on
geochemical characterisation of reservoirs, source to reservoir
comparison, production allocation studies.
My background includes BSc Geology (University of Birmingham), MSc
(Distinction) Micropalaeontology (UCL), and a PhD (NRG, University of
Newcastle) based on Cretaceous Colorado Group shales from the Western
Canada Sedimentary Basin, establishing lateral and sequence
stratigraphic relationships between organic facies across a large
epicontinental seaway (the Western Interior Basin).
